The common method for post-processing is the Wiener filter, where the important parameter is the point spread function (PSF). The Wiener filter will deconvolve the convolution effect if the PSF is the precise impulse response of the optical sparse aperture system. Usually it is hard to measure the PSF experimentally. On the contrary, it is easy to calculate the PSF based on telescope array configuration, which is given by design. In order to evaluate whether the calculated PSF is adaptable to the image restoration, a comparison of the image restoration has been done by using these two kinds of PSFs. The results show that the calculated PSF works well in the case that the co-phasing error is small, while the measured PSF is ineffective.

Three-dimensional point spread function model for line-scanning confocal microscope with high-aperture objective.
Point Spread Function (PSF) modelling is an important task in image formation analysis. In confocal microscopy, the exact PSF is rarely known, thus one has to rely on its approximation. An initial estimation is usually performed experimentally by measuring fluorescent beads or analytically by studying properties of the optical system. Yet, fluorescent line-scanning confocal microscopes are not ...
متن کاملProgressive Blind Deconvolution
We present a novel progressive framework for blind image restoration. Common blind restoration schemes first estimate the blur kernel, then employ non-blind deblurring. However, despite recent progress, the accuracy of PSF estimation is limited. Furthermore, the outcome of non-blind deblurring is highly sensitive to errors in the assumed PSF. Therefore, high quality blind deblurring has remaine...

Abstract: Image restoration is a critical step in many vision applications. Due to the poor quality of Passive Millimeter Wave (PMMW) images, especially in marine and underwater environment, developing strong algorithms for the restoration of these images is of primary importance. In addition, little information about image degradation process, which is referred to as Point Spread Function (PSF...

In this paper, we present a universal deblurring method for real images without prior knowledge of the blur source. The proposed method uses the transition region of the blurred image to estimate the point spread function (PSF). It determines the main edges of the b...
